Mahima Kapoor is a process-driven artist whose creative journey is defined by a relentless exploration of methods and materials. Rooted in the belief that art is a reflection of the world around us, she meticulously collects residues and residual information from her works, weaving them into a cohesive body of art connected through material and dialogue. With a keen eye honed through hours spent outdoors studying subtle movements and growth, particularly as a watercolourist, Mahima seeks to capture the organic shifts of our surroundings in her drawings, paintings, prints, and sculptures. Through her practice, she embraces discomfort, pushing herself to detach from the familiar and delve into uncharted territories within her studio. Mahima’s artistic process is one of trust and immersion, where she allows the journey to guide her, resulting in captivating pieces that reflect the fluid exchange between time, process, and the environment.
