Abhijit Pathak’s two minute artist film brings you close to the origin of his abstraction.

Working in an abstract language, Pathak draws his colours from lived experience. The film follows him along a jungle path. Red sand, scattered rocks, the shifting ground underfoot. The camera stays low and attentive, moving at the pace of his walk.

As the image tightens, the landscape begins to open in a different way. Pathak zooms into the footage, isolating colour at its most granular level. These tones emerge directly from the terrain and carry into his work.

This film offers a clear view into Pathak’s process. His abstraction stays rooted in observation. The colours remain tied to a place that is walked, seen, and experienced.

“The film sits where abstraction meets its source.
My colours come from experience.
Ochre, Umber and Burnt sienna come directly from the land. I carry them into my work.”
